Baltimore-based Laureate Education announced it has a new partnership with IBM on Tuesday that’s geared toward data science education.
Laureate, which returned to being publicly traded last year and saw Eilif Serck-Hanssen succeed founder Douglas Becker as CEO at the beginning of this year, operates just shy of 70 for-profit colleges around the world. It’s teaming with the tech giant that created Watson to create a “fully digital” curriculum that covers areas such as data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning for its students.
According to the company, the coursework is a new offering that Laureate says can help prepare students for jobs as data scientists, software engineers and project managers.
