IT company becomes tenant of flood-relief resource center on Main Street

NextLOGiK, a full-service information technology and development company, joined the Ellicott City Partnership as tenants of the office space located inside Millworks Business Resource Center, which opened in January to support Ellicott City’s flood recovery.

The Howard County Economic Development Authority opened Millworks, located at 8098 Main Street, to provide counseling from the Small Business Administration and Small Business Development Center as well as workspace with free Wi-Fi to businesses and property owners recovering from the flood.

“We are very excited to have NextLOGiK join us at the Millworks Business Resource Center in Ellicott City. They have time and time again found ways to give back and support the Howard County community, and by taking a new location in historic Ellicott City, they will now be a part of the rebuilding of this town,” said Lawrence Twele, CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority.

A little over six months after the flood, Ellicott City is continuing to rebuild. A portion of the businesses have reopened, while others undergo major reconstruction. In addition to providing workspace during business hours, Millworks will also serve as a space to host events and trainings for the community.

NextLOGiK will use the space to collaborate with recovering businesses and nonprofits aiding in recovery efforts. With expertise in digital communication, the team at NextLOGiK will work with these organizations to expand their reach and revitalize business.

“Rebuilding efforts for these businesses are far from over, but our community has shown its resiliency and eagerness to help,” said Kirk Couser, CEO of NextLOGiK. “By partnering with the Howard County Economic Development Authority we can lend our expertise in digital communication to do our part in revitalizing historic Ellicott City.”

The Millworks Business Resource Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
