Maryland’s coronavirus caseload on Friday jumped by 1,840 new cases, the largest single-day increase that the state has seen since the end of January and the third consecutive day of more than 1,000 new cases.
State officials on Friday saw the largest number of cases newly reported in one day since recording 2,097 new cases on Jan. 30.
At least 423,663 Marylanders have tested positive for COVID-19, while 3,221,869 have tested negative as of Friday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
