Maryland has Recorded More Than 2,000 New Daily Coronavirus Cases for 13 of the Past 20 Days

After recording fewer than 2,000 new daily cases for the first eight months of the pandemic, Maryland has confirmed at least 2,000 new coronavirus cases per day for 13 of the past 20 days.

Maryland first crossed the threshold with 2,321 new cases reported on Nov. 14. Before that, the highest number of cases that the state had reported in one day was 1,869 cases on Nov. 13.

The state on Thursday reported that 48 additional Marylanders had died from COVID-19, the highest number of deaths reported in one day since 53 deaths reported on May 27.
