Shield Pals, a Maryland-based personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturer, is pleased to announce that it is opening its very first Shield Pals PPE retail store in the country at The Mall in Columbia when it reopens.

“Our mission is to bring joy and safety back into a post-COVID world,” says Chris McCormick, Co-founder of Shield Pals. “We started that mission in healthcare, and now we look forward to serving that mission in retail.”

Shield Pals has received international media attention for their quick pivot into healthcare as an example of a U.S. business (originally as Hatch Exhibits) that has adapted to the times, but it has been the word-of-mouth advertising for their creative face shield designs that has made them a burgeoning household name in healthcare and dental with customers in all 50 states.

“We knew we wanted a PPE retailer as part of our reopening plan, but I didn’t know we would find a company that would bring so much creativity to that role,” says Barbara Nicklas, Senior General Manager of The Mall in Columbia.

Shield Pals will be located at The Mall in Columbia on Level 2 (near Apple and Banana Republic) where their full catalog of character face shields, sneeze guards, door openers and gowns will be available along with face masks, hand sanitizers, and other accessories from local suppliers. Online customers will be able to choose a Local Pick-up option from the mall as well.
