2/18/20

The Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center at Howard County General Hospital has introduced additional integrative medicine services, including acupuncture, massage, nutritional consultations and therapeutic yoga. The expanded range of therapies for cancer patients and those without cancer are being offered in collaboration with providers from the Natural Care Center at Maryland University of Integrative Health, a graduate university in Laurel that educates practitioners.

“We’re excited to bring innovative services to patients in our community, especially those who are in need of ways to manage pain or side effects from cancer treatment, chronic pain and other conditions,” said Elizabeth Edsall Kromm, vice president of Population Health and Advancement at Howard County General Hospital. “The center has provided hope and support to local cancer patients for the past 21 years. Now we want to expand our reach to help all members of our community focus on wellness.”

Other services available in the center include:

  • Social work, counseling and support group services provided free of charge
  • Salon offering professional hairstyling as well as wigs, head scarves, wraps and hats
  • Lending library and resource navigation services to help patients better understand their diagnosis and treatment

The Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center moved to a new space on the Howard County General Hospital campus in Suite 150 of the Little Patuxent Specialty Care Center at 11065 Little Patuxent Parkway. For more information, visit HCGH.org/cmtbcrc.
