Ashley Addiction Treatment Relocates Outpatient Treatment Center

11/20/19

New location in Bel Air offers more space and provides centralized location for customized substance use disorder treatment programs and behavioral mental health services

Ashley Addiction Treatment (Ashley), one of the world’s most recognizable and respected names in the substance use disorder treatment industry, celebrated the relocation of its outpatient center in Bel Air with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, November 19. Previously situated within Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, the new facility is now part of the Klein Family Harford Crisis Center at 802 Baltimore Pike.

Among those who spoke during the event was President and CEO of University of Maryland Medical Center Lyle Sheldon and Harford County Circuit Judge Kevin J. Mahoney. Many state and local officials were also in attendance to commemorate the official opening of the new location and its positive impact on the community.

“The Circuit Court drug court accepted its first participant in June 2019,” said Mahoney. “Since its beginning, Ashley has been a valued partner in the drug court program. Having a variety of resources available in the community gives us greater flexibility in addressing the often-complicated circumstances that our participants face. It has been a pleasure to work with the committed professionals from Ashley in attempting to address the substance abuse epidemic which has gripped the county, state and country.”

The treatment center will continue to provide a full range of outpatient services for those struggling with substance use disorder including individual counseling, daily group therapy sessions, medical visits with a nurse practitioner, prescriptions for patients enrolled in Medication Supported Recovery™ and the new Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), which first became available last month at Ashley’s outpatient center in Elkton. In addition to treatment programs, patients will also be able to take advantage of behavioral mental health services from the Klein Family Harford Crisis Center located in the same building.

“With the addiction crisis sweeping the nation, it’s more important than ever that people have access to quality treatment services,” said Jenn Aguglia, vice president of outpatient services at Ashley. “With more space and additional treatment options available at the new location, we’ll be able to bring more opportunities of healing and hope to those seeking treatment and the entire community.”

Ashley totals three locations in the state of Maryland including its main inpatient campus in Havre de Grace and two outpatient facilities in Bel Air and Elkton. With both in- and out-of-network options, the non-profit’s customized treatment services ensure top-level compassion and care for all patients, regardless of level of treatment or means of access. Ashley will begin seeing patients at the new location starting in winter 2020.
