- Doug Rein Takes Over Board of Directors Lead Role as Penn-Mar Looks to Next Decade -

Penn-Mar Human Services (PMHS), the region’s leading provider of services for individuals with developmental disabilities (IDD), announced today that Doug Rein will assume the role of chair of the PMHS’ Board of Directors, a position he will assume for three years.

In his role as board chair, Rein will supervise all board decisions and strategic planning, long-term strategy, and budgets. In 2019, as a member of the board of directors, he helped oversee the merger with Change, Inc, a Carroll County-based human services nonprofit that shares a common mission with PMHS of providing exceptional person-centered programs and services to Marylanders with IDD for more than 50 years. In October 2019, PMHS unveiled their new Day Use Learning Center at the Freeland, MD location, allowing the organization to better serve both individuals with IDD and the organization’s staff.

Rein is currently the SVP, Performance Systems & Operations for Tessco Technologies, Inc. in Hunt Valley, MD and has been involved with PMHS since 2012, though he’s been a fan of the organization for many years prior. A close friend told him about the incredible opportunities being created by the nonprofit and he saw first hand the difference PMHS was making in the community. Working directly with PMHS’ CEO Greg Miller, Rein previously facilitated several work opportunities at Tessco for individuals from Penn-Mar’s Customized Employment Program.
