Week 8 of the NFL season ends Oct. 28, and one of the most exciting points of the regular season -- the trade deadline -- takes place one day later.
CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora believes this part of the season is a positive for all teams and their supporters. Struggling teams like the Washington Redskins, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins even can find a bright spot at this point in a very difficult 2019 campaign.
"The trade deadline is becoming more of a thing in football, which I think is a good thing," he said on Glenn Clark Radio Oct. 23. "I think it generates more sort of fan interest, I think a lot of these bad to middling clubs can get their messaging straight and sort of get right with their fans. Or at least show some cogent direction if they do the right thing and embrace the future."
