Five Takeaways From The Terps' 34-28 Loss To Indiana

Maryland football was driving in the final minute Oct. 19 against Indiana, needing a touchdown to overtake the Hoosiers in College Park. But quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome made the fatal mistake, overthrowing running back Javon Leake downfield and watching helplessly as his pass found the hands of Indiana safety Reese Taylor for an interception.

The Terps had their chances all afternoon. But after two turnovers on their final two drives, they came up short by a 34-28 final score, dropping them to 3-4 in head coach Michael Locksley’s first season.

Indiana led almost all afternoon and tallied 520 yards of offense to Maryland’s 383. The Hoosiers took a 24-21 lead into the break and held a 31-28 lead late in the fourth. But after two Maryland defensive stops, the Hoosiers forced two Terp turnovers: first a Leake fumble and then the decisive Pigrome pick.
