A pair of young Orioles are trending in opposite directions.
Outfielder DJ Stewart appears ready to make an everyday impact. Meanwhile, Mychal Givens is struggling to get outs and was relieved from his role as closer.
The Orioles hope they added another hot bat to the lineup with the promotion of Stewart, who had hit .456 with 10 doubles, two triples, five home runs and 27 RBIs during his last 19 games with Triple-A Norfolk before being recalled May 28.
Stewart has been impressive early in Baltimore with three hits in his first eight at-bats (.375). Manager Brandon Hyde is going to give him a regular opportunity in the corners of the outfield.
