Rain Or Shine, Towson Women's Track And Field On The Rise

It's the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Princeton, and a torrential mixture of cold wind and rain lingered over Weaver Stadium.

Towson track and field head coach Mike Jackson doesn't normally talk to his team about the weather conditions before a meet. He doesn't want anyone on his squad to feel like they are ill-prepared or not capable of overcoming it.

"[The rain] caters to a team like ours because we just don't care," Jackson said. "Whenever it rains in practice, we practice with precision. We act as if it's not even raining. ... But this is outdoor track and field, and they don't cancel meets."
