It's been a foregone conclusion ever since Ravens head coach John Harbaugh declared rookie Lamar Jackson his starting quarterback instead of a healthy Joe Flacco in December, but Flacco's 11-year run in Baltimore will officially end next month.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens have agreed in principle to trade Flacco to the Denver Broncos, a move that cannot become official until the start of the new league year March 13. The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted that the Ravens will get a "mid-round" pick in return.
Flacco's departure was imminent based on Jackson's ascension to the starting job and on Flacco's $26.5 million cap hit. The Ravens and new general manager Eric DeCosta were known to be looking for a trade partner for Flacco, and they would have released him if one didn't materialize.
