Towson men's lacrosse faceoff specialist Alex Woodall dropped a few pounds and added some muscle in the offseason.
He had been dominant winning battles against most of the opposition last year, but then ran into double-teams once he picked up the ball. That strategy stymied several scoring chances for the Tigers.
The offseason full of hard work has brought about key changes and is paying dividends for Towson.
The new-look Woodall and a potent attack led by Brendan Sunday helped Towson stun then-No. 7 Johns Hopkins, 17-8, in the regular-season opener at Johnny Unitas Field. It represented the largest margin for Towson all time against Hopkins.
