Rusty Scupper Restaurant And Bar Appoints Restaurant’s First Pastry Chef, Kiwanna McKoy

Rusty Scupper, the iconic seafood restaurant and bar located on the Inner Harbor, has recently named Kiwanna McKoy as the restaurant’s first pastry chef.

In the new position, McKoy will use her culinary and baking talents to create all of the baked goods, pastries, confections and other desserts for the restaurant. She will also design the dessert menu and develop new recipes that will be used for private functions, brunch and other events at the restaurant.

With more than five years of experience, McKoy has extensive experience and expertise in both culinary and pastry arts. Before joining Rusty Scupper she was a baker at Horseshoe Baltimore where she was responsible for the preparation of all the baking needs for the service, line, events and special requests at the venue. She has also served as a sous pastry chef at Bluebird Bakery in Washington, D.C., a baker at La Cuchara in Baltimore, a pastry chef at The Baltimore Cakery, a pastry cook at Le Diplomate in Washington, D.C., a cook at Bon Appetit in Baltimore and a pastry cook at 42 Degrees Catering in Rockville, Md.

McKoy is ServSafe Food Safety certified and has an Associate of Applied Science in both Culinary Arts and Pastry Arts.

About the Rusty Scupper

The Rusty Scupper is located on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at the Inner Harbor Marina (402 Key Highway). An Inner Harbor landmark for more than 35 years, Rusty Scupper features contemporary American seafood dishes and seasonal cuisine. The restaurant serves lunch Monday through Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m., dinner seven days a week and a Live-Jazz brunch on Sundays from 10:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Happy Hour specials at the bar are offered Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A complimentary shuttle service is available to guests within the city limits Monday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to close.
