After the prayer service, Gov. Hogan talked to about 30 members of the press outside the State House. Snow was falling at his first inaugural in 2015. She said she was excited to wait in line to shake the governor’s hand afterward -- but first she wanted to make a video to show her friends. Youth were represented at Wednesday’s ceremony -- Lt. Gov. Gov. Hogan goofed around on stage with a purple surfboard at the inaugural gala at National Harbor after a video that recalled his quip election night: “Tonight in this deep blue state, in this blue year, with a blue wave, it turns out I can surf and we had a purple surfboard.”
