Baltimore Ravens tight end Nick Boyle isn't likely to show up on any list of top free agents of 2019, and he isn't even among the most compelling storylines among Ravens free-agents-to-be, a group that includes linebackers Terrell Suggs, C.J. Mosley and Za'Darius Smith as well as backup quarterback Robert Griffin III.
But Boyle might be among the most significant -- especially on offense -- for a Ravens team that has reinforced its commitment to its run-first offense by naming Greg Roman its offensive coordinator for 2019. Other Ravens on offense who are set to become unrestricted free agents include Griffin, receiver John Brown, tight end Maxx Williams, and running backs Buck Allen and Ty Montgomery.
Boyle (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) operated basically as a tight end-fullback hybrid this past season, a lead blocker for a ground game that, sparked by rookie Lamar Jackson's insertion as the starting quarterback, finished No. 2 in the league with 152.6 rushing yards a game.
