
Bristal McAlister
Junior Achievement of Central Maryland Inc.(JA), a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people to succeed in a rapidly changing economy, has added Bristal McAlister to manage itselementary capstone program, JA BizTown.
In this role, McAlister will be responsible for ensuring a successful JA BizTown experience for students, educators, and volunteers. JA BizTown combines in-classlearning with a day-long visit to a simulated, fully interactive town. The program includes 12 required, teacher-taught, in-class sessions, of which McAlister will be responsible for organizing and supervising.
“JA BizTownhas been visited bythousands of students because it’s a critical, hands-on experience that connects classroom learning to the real world of work,,”said Jennifer Bodensiek, President and CEO of JA of Central Maryland. “Her experience as a program director will be a tremendous asset to JA.”
Most recently, McAlister was a program director for Hot Spots Extended Care Program where she worked closely withwith children and staff members. Additionally, she served as an assistant inclusion director for the Jewish Community Center,providing direct support to staff and parents.
McAlister graduated from West Chester University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2010, she graduated with a Master of Science degree from Slippery Rock University. McAlister also has a Maryland educator certificate.
