The Baltimore Police Department has identified the officer who shot at a car outside the Gilmor Homes in West Baltimore on Saturday night.

It was Sgt. David Colburn, now in his 11th year with the BPD, who fired at a dark-colored vehicle, which then fled from the 1600 block of N. Mount Street. This was Colburn’s first officer-involved shooting, the department says. While he did fire his gun, police say they haven’t yet found any shooting victims.

Officers from the Western District Action Team had been carrying out a narcotics investigation just before 7:30 p.m. that night in the 1600 block of Mountmor Court when gunshots rang out one block west at Mount Street.
