The Young Leaders of the Urban Land Institute District Council (ULI) of Baltimore delivered toys to the St. Francis Neighborhood Center and Fayette Street Outreach Organization after holding a toy drive at their annual holiday party.
The group’s Giving Back Committee collected donations from the ULI community at large for items ranging from winter clothing and Ravens gear to Tonka trucks remote control toys. In the end, the organization collected 300 toys.
“As growing professionals and members of our community, we’re thrilled to hold an annual toy drive that brings joy to our neighbors,” said Patrick Terranova, Baltimore Development Corporation, Young Leaders Group Chair. “Through this small holiday endeavor, we can help today’s organizations and leaders uplift youth and families in the city.”
St. Francis Neighborhood Center has existed since 1963 to raise awareness and bring change to the lives of those they serve in their community of Reservoir Hill in Baltimore City. The oldest youth enrichment center in the City, they’re committed to ending generational poverty through education, inspiring self-esteem, self-improvement, and strengthening connections to the community.
Fayette Street Outreach Organization was established in 1994 by a group of residents who at the time were fed up with the drug and sanitation problems that plagued their Southwest Baltimore neighborhood. Its mission is to (1) build a better, safer, and healthier community for its residents; (2) build a brighter future for its youth; and (3) work toward a better tomorrow for all.
