2019 marks the 30th year in business for Preston Productions Inc., a broadcast video and film production company located in Hunt Valley, MD. To celebrate this new milestone, the company will be making some changes, including a name change to Maryland Motion Pictures (MDMP). "I want the company to feel more inclusive and believe removing my name from it is the best way to do that," said Stanley Preston, Producer and Director at MDMP. "This is more than just a name change. It's about new tools, techniques and relationships with clients who have a story to tell, and with colleagues who love to tell them."
When MDMP started back in 1989, most scripts were written using a typewriter. The company shot on 16/35mm film, or Betacam SP videotape. Editing rates at large video production facilities ran between $375-$575 an hour. Times have changed.
"Whether it is a thirty second commercial, marketing video or feature length film, our mission is to produce creative, compelling and effective content for every client no matter what the budget. Filmmaking is our passion and we want to work with others who share that spirit," said Preston.
