Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale said it was "flattering" to have his name mentioned as a potential head coaching candidate but said he is also content in his current role under John Harbaugh as well.
In his first year as the Ravens' defensive coordinator, Martindale has guided a unit that ranked No. 1 overall, No. 2 in scoring and No. 5 against the pass. The Ravens consistently stymied top quarterbacks this year and set a franchise record with 11 sacks in the win at Tennessee.
Players immediately bought into Martindale's aggressive schemes and the latitude he gave them on the field to adjust, and that played a major role in the Ravens finishing 10-6 and winning the AFC North title.
