Toast to 2019 at City Perch Kitchen + Bar with a Five-Course Tasting Dinner + Optional Wine Pairing

City Perch Kitchen + Bar invites guests to celebrate together and ring in the new year on Monday, December 31. Guests will enter 2019 with the ease and indulgence of a five-course meal created by Houman Gohary, executive chef and Sherry Yard, three-time James Beard winner and host of The Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition. The festive evening includes live contemporary jazz and funk music by Geno Marriott, and a complimentary midnight Möet & Chandon Champagne toast.

To begin on a decadent note, guests will start with Ossetra Caviar served with mini Yukon gold potatoes, crème fraîche, and chives. A Roasted Beet + Burrata Salad is next with creamy burrata, red and gold beets, wild arugula, black garlic balsamic and smoked sea salt. Third Course options include Seared Scallops with cauliflower purée, brown butter-yuzu vinaigrette and pea tendrils, or Foie Gras Torchon ($15 supplemental charge) with fig and ginger compote, toasted brioche and chervil. For entrees, a choice between land or sea follows with a classic and perfectly rich Butter Poached Lobster Tail with black truffle risotto and charred asparagus or Grilled Lamb Chops “Scottadito” with herb roasted potatoes, soy-garlic glaze and charred asparagus. There’s no doubt that guests will want to leave room for dessert – a Raspberry + Vanilla Baked Alaska with warm toasted meringue, dark chocolate sauce and raspberries.

To satisfy vegetarian guests, City Perch will offer Tempura Wild Mushroom with cauliflower puree, brown butter-yuzu vinaigrette and pea tendrils, and Black Truffle Risotto with charred asparagus, Parmigiano-Reggiano and crispy shallots as third and fourth courses. City Perch’s full regular menu will also be available.

Rounding out the evening and making this New Year’s Eve extra special, Geno Marriott, a storied contemporary smooth jazz and funk performer and soprano saxophonist will delight the crowd from 9p.m. – 1p.m. Geno Marriott hails from Philadelphia, Pa., and is a frequent performer at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club in Washington D.C., as well as serving as the featured jazz artist for WHOV 88.1 FM in Hampton, Va.

Reservations are available starting at 5:00p.m. on New Year’s Eve, and guests are invited to toast to 2019 with noisemakers and a glass of complimentary Möet & Chandon Champagne at midnight!
