Vehicle Donation Program Helps Support Families with Sick Children

10/30/18

On November 15th, Vehicle Donation Day will help support Ronald McDonald House Charities programs

On Thursday, November 15th, 2018, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC) will be celebrating the fourth annual RMHC National Vehicle Donation Day. Donations of a used car, truck, boat or RV can help provide families a “home-away-from-home” at a local Ronald McDonald House and keep them together during the hospitalization of a seriously ill child.

Each vehicle donated on November 15th could cover the cost of a one-week stay for a family at the Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a place of respite for families dealing with a sick child, lessening the burdens placed on those families and ensuring thousands of families a year have the stability and resources they need to keep their child healthy and happy while being an engaged part of their child’s medical team.

RMHCDC will beteaming up with One Car One Difference once again for Vehicle Donation Day in the Washington, DC area. One Car One Difference will tow donated vehicles at no cost, process the vehicle’s sale and send the proceeds to RMHCDC. Vehicle donations are a fast, easy, and tax-deductible way to support RMHC and improve the lives of families with sick children.

“If anyone in the DC, Maryland or Virginia area is considering donating a vehicle, we ask that you please reach out and we will make this process incredibly easy for you!” said Karen Torres, President and CEO of RMHCDC. “Each vehicle, regardless of its condition, will help ease the hardship of children’s illness on families. Please remember that you hold the keys to keeping families close.”

This year, Ronald McDonald House Charities hopes to reach their goal of having 1,000 vehicles donated, which would raise nearly $1 Million for local chapters of the charity. Those interested in donating their used vehicle to RMHCDC can simply fill out the donation form at CarsHelp.org or call 855-227-7435. Every donation makes a difference.
