Nov 1. Talk is Part of a Year-long Exploration of Gun Violence
Natasha Pratt-Harris, MS, PhD, Associate Professor & Criminal Justice Program Coordinator in the Department of Sociology & Anthropology at Morgan State University will discuss the concept that whether in the hands of civilians (legally or illegally) or carried by police officers, guns can be viewed as hazards on Thursday, Nov. 1. at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB).
The talk is part of the President’s Symposium and White Paper Project, an interprofessional initiative that engages faculty, staff, and students from all of the UMB schools and academic programs in a yearlong conversation on a topic that is of interest and importance to the University and its community. During the 2018-2019 academic year students will explore a phenomenon that is both pervasive and controversial — gun violence.
The symposium is a joint initiative of the President’s Office and the Office of Interprofessional Student Learning & Service Initiatives.
