10/26/18

Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland is hosting a “Meet the Mentors” event on Thursday, November 8 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at their Baltimore headquarters in the Federal Reserve Bank on 502 S. Sharp Street.

The event will feature a panel of experts in various fields such as accounting/taxes, finance, leasing/commercial real estate, cybersecurity, marketing/public relations, workplace safety, and business owner advisory services. They include:

James Campbell, Leasing Representative, Merritt Properties, LLC

  • Diane Devaney, President, Devaney & Associates, Inc.
  • George Johnson, Territorial Account Executive, Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company
  • Angela Murphy, Chief Operating Officer, EZShield
  • Rosa Scharf, Senior Vice President, SBA Specialist, Howard Bank
  • Chad Seifert, Principal, KatzAbosch
  • Moderated by Jim Ries, Director of Business Development, Offit Kurman

Attendees will learn questions every owner/operator should ask to grow, protect and succeed in business. After the panel portion of the event, attendees will be given the opportunity to consult one or more of the experts during one-on-one, speed mentoring sessions.

“As we strive to support and strengthen Maryland’s business community, it’s important for us to facilitate opportunities where business leaders learn with and from each other,” said Angie Barnett, president and CEO of BBB of Greater Maryland. “Small business owners are engaged in the daily work it takes to operate their organizations. It’s difficult to develop comprehensive expertise to navigate the life cycle of your business while delivering the quality products or services. We hope this event gives every attendee a piece of knowledge that helps them toward their goals or prevents a costly oversight,” she added.

BBB’s Meet the Mentors is sponsored by McCormick & Company. Registration is $15 with advance registration required. Free on-site parking is available for the first 40 guests. For more information or to register go to: https://www.bbb.org/en/us/article/events/18396-meet-the-mentors.
