Gold and Company Assembles Building Sale in Fells Point

10/18/18

General Joseph Haller Post 95 of the American Legion was headquartered in three interconnected buildings located at 1742-1746 Fleet Street for decades. It is no secret that The American Legion, the nation’s largest wartime veterans’ service organization, has been seeing a slow decline of its membership in recent years. Underutilized, the American Legion decided to sell the 10,000 square foot building located in Fells Point.

The American Legion turned to Jim Chivers and Gary Glover of Gold And Company to bring the properties to market and facilitate the sale.

In about a month the duo found Chasen Construction & Development, a Baltimore based developer, as the buyer. Chasen, which specializes in building, restoring, and remodeling properties, saw an excellent opportunity to redevelop the vacant buildings and turn them into residences.

The sale settled earlier this month.
