Glen Mason: Maryland Should Keep Matt Canada As Head Coach

Maryland interim head coach Matt Canada took over a Terps team in turmoil following the death of sophomore offensive lineman Jordan McNair and reports of a toxic culture within the football program, but Canada has led the Terps to a 4-2 mark to begin the year.

Maryland head coach DJ Durkin remains on administrative leave as an investigation into the Terps' football culture continues. Big Ten Network analyst Glen Mason believes interim head coach Matt Canada deserves to retain the job moving forward.

"I can unequivocally say I think he's done a phenomenal job," Mason said Oct. 11 on Glenn Clark Radio. "... I always look at a coach, and is he winning the games he's supposed to win? Number two, does he put them in position at times to win a game when he probably shouldn't win? I think he's done that."
