Pediatrician Alicia Morgan-Cooper, MD, has been elected to the Board of Directors of The Arc Baltimore.

One of the nation's largest and most respected organizations of its kind, The Arc Baltimore supports more than 6,000 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

“Alicia’s work in pediatrics, her volunteer experience with organizations such as the Disability Rights Maryland, and her community service make her an invaluable addition to our Board of Directors,” says The Arc Baltimore’s Executive Director, Kathleen Durkin. “Alicia has a unique understanding of many challenges being faced by those individuals whom The Arc supports, making her a vital resource to our Board and our entire organization.”

Morgan-Cooper is a graduate of American University and the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine, where she earned a Dean’s Academic Scholarship. She did her residency at Baltimore Sinai Hospital before embarking on a solo career as a private pediatrician at Village Pediatrics in 2005.

In addition to her professional work, Morgan-Cooper serves on the Board of the Institute of Notre Dame. She also volunteers with the Madison Buccaneers Youth Basketball Organization and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and teaches at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Sunday School.

The Homeland resident previously served on the Disability Rights Maryland Board and the Maryland Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.
