Stand to Honor Event Salutes America’s Fallen Servicemen & Women

9/23/18

Participants to stand in the boot imprints of fallen soldiers to raise funds for scholarships at Hunt Valley Towne Centre from Oct. 5th – 8th

Folds of Honor is proud to announce that it is hosting “Stand to Honor” at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre, beginning Friday, October 5th at 7:13 a.m. and continuing through Monday, October 8th. The event will begin with opening ceremonies, including a color guard and the singing of the national anthem.

The “Stand to Honor” event is an initiative dedicated to helping the Folds of Honor organization fund scholarships for spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled U.S. servicemen and women.

Participants can donate $26 to stand for thirteen minutes on a platform that contains the boot imprints of a fallen U.S. service-member. The number thirteen represents the thirteen folds of an American burial flag given to the families of a fallen service member. All of the 13 platforms were built and assembled for the event by Hayes Construction including one platform that is wheelchair accessible.

“We look forward to honoring our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country by helping to support their families that were left behind,” said Allen Wronowski, Director of Golf Development and Relations, Folds of Honor. “Participants at this special event will always remember the thirteen minutes they stand in a fallen soldiers’ boot imprints to pay tribute by raising money for scholarships for our local families across the region.”

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 16,000 educational scholarships in all 50 states. Folds of Honor’s motto is: Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy.
