The Quarry Springs estate condominium community recently held a “Fine Art Show” showcasing nearly 50 original abstract and realistic impressions of Taiwanese-American artist Lung-Chin Shih. Located at 8101 River Road in the Bethesda section of Montgomery County, Quarry Springs is presently comprised of fifty residential units ranging from 2,200 to 4,500 square feet of space among two separate buildings and is 70% sold. Sales are exclusively handled by The Mayhood Company.

Flora and David Kanter

A professional artist with more than thirty years of experience, Shih is recognized in Taiwan as well as the United States for her creative and realistic use of vibrant colors when producing acrylic on paper and oil paintings, as well as charcoal impressions. The majority of her work is abstract paintings. She recently moved from Texas to Bethesda with her husband and continues to produce new artwork pieces.

“My inspiration is derived from traveling the world with my husband to experience exotic locales, as well as my emotional response to both happy and tragic events that occur in the modern world,” Shih explained. “Music and rhythm also shape my expressions, which are defined by different shades, textures and lively color schemes. I never title my pieces because I want people to interpret the meaning of each piece of artwork for themselves, and allow the art to also speak for itself.

The Estate Condominiums at Quarry Springs is a gated community with a 24-hour attended gatehouse, valet parking, a private clubhouse for residents and spacious grounds. The community is adjacent to Congressional Country Club and Burning Tree Club, and is located less than one mile from the Capital Beltway and approximately ten miles from Washington, D.C. 1788 Holdings, LLC is the developer of the project.
