Baltimore Coffee And Tea Company® Opens New Location At Annapolis Junction Town Center In Howard County

9/13/18

Site within new Transit-Oriented Development represents ninth for Timonium-based coffee, tea and food retailer in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Frederick Counties plus Baltimore City

BALTIMORE (September 13, 2018) – Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company® has opened a new coffee shop and fast-casual restaurant within Annapolis Junction Town Center, a mixed-use Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) situated adjacent to the Savage MARC Train Station in Howard County. The site represents the ninth location throughout Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard and Frederick Counties, as well as Baltimore City for the Timonium-headquartered company that is recognized for its 120 varieties of coffees and Eastern Shore Tea Company® brand. In addition to serving specialty coffee and tea drinks, the restaurant will serve an assortment of breakfast and lunch items.

Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company is located within the retail component of Annapolis Junction Town Center, a 5,420 square foot project managed by St. John Properties that will also feature the second location of Pepperjack Subs, a locally-owned restaurant and ice cream parlor. St. John Properties also developed a four-story, 100,000 square foot commercial office building at Annapolis Junction and, earlier this year, signed Verizon Wireless to a 61,000 square foot lease. Master developer Somerset Construction Company built The Residences at Annapolis Junction, a 416-unit luxury apartment project which represents the residential component of the TOD. Annapolis Junction Town Center features roadside visibility from MD Route 32 and is near MD Route 295, Interstate 95, and Ft. Meade.

“Annapolis Junction Town Center is extremely unique with its multiple traffic generators including residents that live on-site, office workers, commuters that ride the MARC train each day and the surrounding community,” explained Norm Loverde, Vice President of Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company®. “With hundreds of Verizon Wireless employees moving into the adjacent office building, the timing of our opening works perfectly. We believe our philosophy of getting to know the names of our customers, plus having a smiling face behind our counter, will resonate with each audience.”

In addition to this location, Baltimore Coffee and Tea signed leases with St. John Properties late last year at The Government and Technology Enterprise (The GATE) in Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in Harford County and the I-97 Business Park in Anne Arundel County. The restaurant within The GATE is now open, and Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company expects to open the third site at the end of this year or early in 2019.

The restaurant offers an assortment of hot and cold drink selections including hot chocolate, Café au Lait, Chai tea offerings, Lattes, Espresso-style coffee, Cappuccino and Café Latte. Breakfast items range from bagels and muffins, to egg sandwiches and hot oatmeal. The lunch menu includes sandwiches such as the Eastern Shore Chicken Salad, Deep Creek Tuna Melt and the Calvert Club, featuring turkey, bacon and pepper jack cheese. Grilled Panini sandwiches featuring roast turkey, chicken artichoke and grilled cheese, as well as homemade-style soups and salads are also available.

St. John Properties, Inc., founded in 1971, owns and has developed more than 18.5 million square feet of Flex/R&D, Office, Retail and Warehouse space in Maryland, Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Utah and Wisconsin. The company was named the national “2018 Developer of the Year” by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. For more information about the company visit www.sjpi.com
