The Baltimore Whiskey Company will open up its new production facility in Union Collective on Sept. 15, and it will do so under a new name: the Baltimore Spirits Company.
While the company launched in Remington in 2015 with the intent of making the first whiskey distilled in Baltimore in five decades, the name change reflects some of its other offerings, such as gin, amaro and apple brandy.
Earlier this year, the company did release the namesake whiskey, which sold out its first two runs. The distiller will have a third batch ready when it open its doors in a few weeks.
The facility will include a new still with a “custom geothermal system to sustainably provide cooling necessary for the distilling process,” according to a release. All of the new equipment should help the company ramp up production of its spirits.
