Cybersecurity Innovator Selects COPT’s Columbia Gateway for Headquarters Location

Corporate Office Properties Trust (NYSE: OFC) has executed an  18,000 square foot lease with The Maryland Innovation and Security Institute in the Columbia Gateway Business & Innovation Center in Columbia, Maryland. In response to United States Cyber Command awarding them a five-year Partnership Intermediary Agreement to innovate new technologies, MISI is establishing a cyber innovation, collaboration, and prototyping facility in Columbia Gateway, which is within 10 miles of Fort Meade and where USCYBERCOM is located.Below is a link to the press release MISI issued on June 12, 2018:

Since the formation of U.S. Cyber Command in late 2010 and including this transaction, 38% of our new leasing in Columbia Gateway has been with cyber tenants, and we estimate that 25% of the park’s four million square feet of office space is leased to cybersecurity companies. We believe that MISI’s collaborative culture and business practices will attract additional cybersecurity firms who seek to accelerate the growth and production of their technological solutions in support of our national security priorities.”
