Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Maryland announced today that its President and CEO, Jennifer Bodensiek, has been named to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board (GWDB), Governor Larry Hogan’s chief policy-making body for workforce development.
As the latest addition to the GWDB, Bodensiek will work board members to develop strategies to create education, employment, and training programs that will prepare the future Maryland workforce for success.
“Being appointed to the Governer’s Workforce Development Board is a huge honor for our entire team,” said Jennifer Bodensiek, President and CEO of JA of Central Maryland. “I admire the steps that the Governor’s Workforce Development Board has already taken for our local workplace leaders. Each day at Junior Achievement, we see the skills students of all ages need to constantly learn and adapt to as society advances. I’m excited to share our first-hand insight with the board.”
The GWDB aims towards the preservation and expansion of Maryland’s highly-educated workforce by bringing together a variety of workforce development partners and professionals from different fields.
“Ms. Bodensiek’s experience and knowledge of the next generation’s changing needs and requirements will be a great asset to both the Governor’s Workforce Development Board and to the greater Maryland workforce,” said Michael DiGiacomo, executive director of the GWDB. “Given Junior Achievement’s success connecting talented top business leaders and volunteers with students at all levels and learning paces, we are certain Ms. Bodensiek will provide an innovative perspective to the board’s work.”
