Money Magazine Names Loyola a Best Value College

Loyola University Maryland has been named one of the nation’s “Best Colleges for Your Money” by Money Magazine, which released its 2018-19 higher education value rankings this month.

Loyola ranked no. 256 on the list of 727 U.S. colleges and universities on Money’s list. Undergraduate Loyola alumni reported an average salary of $55,100 within five years of graduation, according to the report.

Money focused on three primary factors to rank schools: quality of education, affordability, and outcomes. One of the heaviest-weighted variables in the quality of education calculation was six-year graduation rate, which is 83 percent at Loyola compared to 59 percent nationally. Money noted that six-year graduation rate is “widely recognized as one of the most important indicators of a college’s quality.”
