Smoothie King Signs Lease For Space In Boulevard Place In Windsor Mill Section Of Baltimore County

Smoothie King, a fast-casual restaurant offering sports beverages, snacks and supplements, has signed a lease with David S. Brown Enterprises for space within Boulevard Place, a 114,000 square foot mixed-use project located in the Windsor Mill section of Baltimore County. The franchise, part of a worldwide network with more than 950 locations and owned by Kunta Little, is expected to open this fall.

Smoothie King sells nearly 75 different blends of fruit-based smoothies in categories including fitness blends, slim blends, wellness blends, take a break blends and kids blend. Popular flavors are strawberry-banana, blueberry-strawberry, pineapple-mango and peach-papaya. The drinks are created to help people “slim down, bulk up, last longer, recover faster, get more balance or consume more vegetables.” The menu also includes a line of nuts and granola; protein muffins and cookies; protein bars; and chips and pretzels.

This represents the first Smoothie King franchise location for Little, and he plans to open at least two more once this site opens. “I have carefully studied this franchise and matched it to a location where I am extremely confident to achieve success, based on the nearby demographics and desire for healthful eating,” Little explained. “I am familiar with the area and believe this is the ideal spot.”

“Consumers continue to gravitate towards foods that provide healthy and nutritional options, and Smooth King has built a highly-recognized brand across the country using this mission,” stated Ken Bernstein of David S. Brown Enterprises. “This use will draw people from the commercial office building, neighboring business communities and the surrounding neighborhood, which will benefit the entire center.”

Featuring direct access from both Security Boulevard and Rolling Road, Boulevard Place features a complementary mix of commercial office and retail space including Panera Bread, Ledo Pizza and Chipotle, and is located approximately one mile from the headquarters of the Social Security Administration. The project is surrounded by a free surface parking lot and is located approximately one-mile from the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695). Nearly 105,000 consumers, among more than 40,000 households, reside within a three-mile radius of the project, with a median household income exceeding $72,000.
