Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner told Glenn Clark Radio July 26 the Ravens would be wise to get rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson on the field this season.
Warner didn't question Joe Flacco's ability or whether he should start, but said the Ravens need to do what's best for the team, and Jackson could create havoc for defenses with a different skill set than Flacco's.
"I would make the argument that you always have a package for Lamar Jackson," Warner said. "As much as Joe might not like it, [Jackson is] just so dynamic that you get him third-and-1 situations, you get him red-zone situations. You put him in a situation where he can run [or] pass and defenses have to really focus in on both of them, and probably more on the run than the pass. That can open some things up for your team that maybe a guy like Joe Flacco can't."
