This weekend offers plenty of chances to have some fun and raise money for a worthy cause–often at the same time. There’s some signs of back to school, but equally plenty of chances to pick crabs, enjoy some ice cream and hang out with dogs. Soak it in:

Happening tonight:

Baltimore Ceasefire Weekend Kickoff: 5-7 p.m. at Loyola York Road Initiative. A peace march unites the community to call for a halt to violence during the 72-hour stretch. A healing fair with yoga, meditation and entertainment follows.

WTMD’s First Thursday Festival

5:30-10 p.m. at Canton Waterfront Park. Soul singer Bettye LaVette headlines the free outdoor concert series, plus more music on two stages from The Family Crest, J.D. Wilkes and the Legendary Shack Shakers and Heartless Bastards singer Erika Wennerstrom.
