Orioles top prospect Ryan Mountcastle believes he's prepared for a possible promotion to Baltimore as the organization works to retool its big league roster.
"I've just got to show up to the field every day and play," Mountcastle said on Glenn Clark Radio July 24. "If I do get the call, it would be crazy. That'd be awesome. … I've got to stay ready for anything. If they call me up, I think I'd be ready."
Mountcastle, the Orioles' No. 1 prospect and No. 79 overall according to MLB Pipeline, is enjoying a huge season with the Baysox. The infielder is batting .315 with a .366 on-base percentage and a .521 slugging percentage, as of July 26. He's hit 11 home runs and driven in 41 runs this season.
