Former Orioles second baseman and current Los Angeles Dodgers analyst Jerry Hairston told Glenn Clark Radio July 18 that shortstop Manny Machado may not be a mere rental for the Dodgers
Hairston said Los Angeles will make a strong push to sign the four-time All-Star long-term.
"The Dodgers don't make this trade unless they ... believe they have a chance to possibly sign Manny Machado long-term," Hairston said. "If you put him in an environment like the Dodgers in L.A., in Hollywood, I think he's going to thrive. I played everywhere. I started out … in Baltimore, I played in New York, I played in Chicago. I love L.A., I still am in L.A., I make my home there. And I think Manny Machado is really going to love it there."
