Abhik Patel, General Manager, World of Beer

World of Beer, a combination restaurant and bar recognized for its regular offerings or more than 50 beers on tap and an additional 500 bottle varieties, has opened in 5,000 square feet of space at Metro Centre at Owings Mills. The concept occupies a ground floor location within a four-story, Class “A” 200,000 square foot mixed-use commercial office and retail building fronting Grand Central Avenue in the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). Metro Centre at Owings Mills is a project of David S. Brown Enterprises, Ltd.

“Despite our name, we offer much more than just beer,” explained Abhik Patel, General Manager of the restaurant, referencing the full lunch and dinner menu consisting of “tavern-style” food offerings such as flatbreads; sandwiches and burgers, chipotle chicken and Guinness bratwurst. “Our daily specials are extremely popular including $5 dollar burger and bratwurst night on Mondays and Taco Tuesdays that feature $2.50 and $3.50 tacos. We also offer Happy Hour every Monday through Friday with $3 to $4 beers and spirits for $5. There is also a late Happy Hour from 10 pm to midnight from Sunday through Thursday.”

Coming soon to World of Beer is the weekly “Beerunch” on Saturdays and Sundays that includes specialty breakfast items such as beer-battered pancakes and a chicken and waffle sandwich option. The Owings Mills location serves a number of locally brewed craft beers such as Heavy Seas, Union Craft Brewing, Jailbreak Brewing Company and Flying Dog Brewery.

“We love the energy of Metro Centre at Owings Mills,” Patel added. “The project continues to add residential units, it is surrounded by dense neighborhoods and served by excellent transportation amenities such as Interstate 795 and the metro system.”

More than 140,000 vehicles pass Metro Centre each day from Interstate 795. In addition, more than 5,000 commuters board the Owings Mills Metro stop each workday and approximately one million people exit the station on an annual basis. More than 30,000 consumers utilize the library and community college per month. The downtown business district and Baltimore City amenities, such as M&T Bank Stadium and Oriole Park Camden Yards can be accessed in approximately 20 minutes from the project.
