Capitol Riverfront Class-A Office Building Maintains 100% Occupancy

Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) announced that it has completed a 27,912-square-foot lease transaction at 1100 New Jersey Avenue, SE in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood on behalf of the building’s owner, WC Smith, with Unity Health Care (Unity). Unity provides a full-range of health and human services to meet the needs of District residents through a network of over 20 traditional and non-traditional health sites and a mobile medical outreach vehicle.

NKF’s Chairman, Metropolitan Washington Asset Services Brendan Owen and Associate Morgan Monroe of NKF represented the owner, WC Smith. NKF’s Senior Managing Director Doug Damron and Managing Director Chris Lucey represented Unity Health Care.

“This was an ideal opportunity for Unity Health Care to relocate its administrative headquarters operations to an amenity rich neighborhood and close to the Metro, while still being economically prudent,” said NKF’s Damron.

Centrally located in the flourishing Capitol Riverfront neighborhood at Navy Yard Metro Station, the 10-story 1100 New Jersey Avenue, with four sides of glass, was recently renovated adding a new fitness center, innovative conference centers and a bike storage facility. The Class A building overlooks the Potomac River, US Capitol, Canal Park and Nationals Park and offers access to a multitude of surrounding restaurants, 10 acres of parks and many other amenities. The Capitol Riverfront is a unique option for tenants looking for space in a highly amenitized and accessible area.

“1100 New Jersey continues to be a success. We’ve been 100 percent leased and in April secured a deal with Unity Health Care for the space that Alion gave back,” said Owen.

“We’re pleased to welcome Unity Health Care to the building’s strong tenant base which includes the African Wildlife Foundation, Watkinson Miller and more,” said WC Smith’s Executive Vice President, Edward Wolynec.
