OneMain Financial Makes Gift of $15,000 to JA BizTown Super Summer Camp

5/22/18

Personal loan company, OneMain Financial, has donated $15,000 to Junior Achievement of Central Maryland’s BizTown Super Summer Camp, an experiential learning opportunity where campers explore work readiness, personal finance education, and entrepreneurship.

This year the annual camp is set for June 25-29, 2018 at JA’s Owings Mills headquarters (10711 Red Run Blvd., Ste. 110). JA BizTown’s Super Summer Camp immerses 9-12 year olds in a one-of-a-kind JA BizTown experience. Campers will operate their very own business, manage a bank account, use a debit card, and get their dream job—like DJ, scientist, CEO and more.

“We are so grateful for OneMain Financial’s generosity and commitment to preparing youth for the future that lies ahead of them.” said Jennifer Bodensiek, President of JA of Central Maryland. “This donation allows us to continue to offer this immersive summer program and give kids a real-world experience of the workplace.”

The donation from OneMain Financial will be used to fund activities and hands-on learning experiences for JA BizTown Super Summer Campers. OneMain Financial has made it a priority to partner with local non-profits who help advance the future workforce.

“We are committed to helping others achieve their financial dreams and career aspirations,” said Trish Weaver, director of philanthropy at OneMain.

“Knowing our support helps prepare so many young people for their future make us proud to support Junior Achievement.”
