Rita McDearman

SHIFT, a Baltimore-based management consulting and recruiting company, announced today that Operations and Finance Manager Rita McDearman has been promoted to Director of Finance.

With more than ten years of financial leadership experience, McDearman will be responsible for SHIFT’s financial and strategic management. Last year, she effortlessly managed SHIFT’s acquisition of Exemplary Performance.

“Rita’s capacity to handle the finances and operational systems of our organization has hugely impacted our growth and ability to scale,” said Joe Mechlinski, founder and CEO of SHIFT. “This next evolution for Rita provides an opportunity to leverage and evolve the systems she has built to drive even better business results. Rita is the epitome of what it means to shift the work!”

McDearman began her career in Budapest, Hungary as a Business Analyst for Tesco in 1997. After her move to the United States in 2000, she worked as a Program Manager for CONNOR Training Services and went on to work for Prometric as a Client Account Manager. Prior to joining SHIFT in 2015, she directed the business team at Trellis Services, which was sold after she successfully reorganized, streamlined and modernized the company’s financial issues.

McDearman graduated from the Budapest Business School with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and International Business and Economics. She later earned her Master’s of Business Administration degree from Loyola University of Maryland in 2009.
