“I like to set high goals for myself and then attain them,” explained 22-year old Jenna Irvin

Westview Promenade is now 100% leased and occupied with the opening of a Pure Barre studio franchise location, owned by Jenna Irvin, a 22-year old recent graduate of High Point University. With more than 470 locations across the United States, Pure Barre is recognized as the largest barre franchise in the country. Owned and managed by Hill Management Services, Inc.,Westview Promenade is a 200,000 square foot lifestyle shopping center located at the intersection of Maryland Route 85 (Buckeystown Pike) and Crestwood Boulevard.

“I discovered barre while a junior in college and immediately embraced both the workout routine and the immediate results, which are noticeable in less than ten sessions,” explained Irvin, who grew up in southern Pennsylvania and graduated with a double major in sports management and health. “I like to set high goals for myself and then attain them, and thought opening a franchise just out of college would represent a significant challenge. Plus, at my age, now is the perfect time to try this type of thing because I have no one to support but myself.”

Pure Barre is a total body workout that leverages the ballet barre to enable participants to perform small, isometric movements which burns fat, sculpts muscles and creates long, lean physiques. It was founded by a dancer, choreographer and fitness expert who opened her first studio in 2001, before becoming a franchise in 2009. The Westview Promenade location, which presently employs eight workers and will increase to about eleven, features both a studio and a retail boutique selling athleisure merchandise with brand names including lululemon.

“This franchise differentiates itself by the intense training required to become a certified instructor,” added Irvin. “It takes more than five days to master a particular technique and the path to becoming an instructor can last up to two months. They are also taught how to handle injuries and to mix routines up so they never teach the same class twice. After touring many different locations throughout Frederick, Westview Promenade was my first real estate choice based on the tenant mix and the ease of access and egress.”

This is the only Pure Barre franchise location in Frederick.

“Fitness studios quickly become destination tenants for a shopping center venue and, by their nature, attract unique customer visitations to the benefit of the entire merchant roster,”said Danielle Beyrodt, Vice President for Hill Management. “We are extremely familiar and impressed with the Pure Barre brand and have full confidence in Jenna to execute the business plan and operate a highly-successful franchise.”

Westview Promenade is anchored by Regal Cinemas, a 16-screen movie theatre and features stores such as MOM’s Organic Market, Ann Taylor Loft, Jos. A. Bank, Chico’s, Gymboree and White House Black Market. More than 90,000 consumers reside within a five-mile radius of the center, including nearly 35,000 households with an average household income exceeding $85,000.

Founded in 1976, Hill Management Services, Inc. is a privately-owned, full-service real estate development company.
