Maryland Theatre Board Approves Contractor For Expansion

The Maryland Theatre is moving toward a major expansion project, with work in the summer including demolishing the theater lobby and box office.

The theater's board of directors voted last Thursday to approve a $12.26 million construction contract with Morgan-Keller Construction of Frederick, Md. The contract is to expand the historic theater and add more space for rehearsals, events and patron services, Executive Director Jessica Green said Monday.
