COPT Receives Four NAIOP-MD 2018 Awards of Excellence

4/30/18

1201 Winterson Road, Linthicum MD

COPT (Corporate Office Properties Trust, NYSE: OFC) recently received four 2018 Awards of Excellence from NAIOP’s Maryland Chapter. The awards recognize the highest quality and most innovative achievements of regional commercial real estate developers and the companies and individuals who serve the industry in Maryland. COPT’s 2018 NAIOP honors include:

Best Office Redevelopment
1201 Winterson Road, Linthicum MD 21090

Previously a vintage 1980s suburban office building, this four-story, 72,500 square foot building, recognized as the Gateway to Airport Square, has been redeveloped into an iconic, LEED Silver certified contemporary workplace that features a completely renovated exterior clad with a contrasting high performance metal panel system. A four-story glass curtain wall greets tenants at the front entry, and the new lobby features a monolithic wood ceiling that spans the building’s main entrance.

Best LEED Office Building
540 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, MD 20701

Completed in April 2017, this 144,000 square foot, five-story Class A office building is COPT’s 35th building located in The National Business Park. Sustainable highlights include 30 percent recycled content in building materials, low flow fixtures for 38 percent water savings, efficient DOAS HVAC system, TPO membrane roof, and smart irrigation system controls. LEED Silver certification is pending.

Best Office Innovation
CIRQL at 7134 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD 21046

COPT transformed an existing 22,000 square foot, single-story flex building that had been vacant for over four years into an innovative office product that serves the needs of the increasingly mobile and sophisticated workforces of small, growing companies. Aptly named CIRQL, dedicated office suites from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet encircle a lively hub of high-end, on-location amenity spaces shared by tenant companies: communal kitchen and conference room, quite huddle spaces, outdoor patios, a bike share, and more. Located in the Columbia Gateway business and innovation park, CIRQL also features simplified leases with flexible terms.
