19th floor rooftop bar returns with bigger focus on food and an all-new indoor space

Lord Baltimore Hotel has announced April 27th as the official opening for LB Skybar, its rooftop bar located on the 19th floor of the hotel. New this year, LB Skybar will offer an expanded menu and will debut an indoor area featuring additional seating and a permanent bar.

“We really want to focus on the food this year,” said Onahlea Shimunek, general manager for the Lord Baltimore Hotel. “We’re particularly excited about the grilled items and hope to incorporate some nightly menu specials into the mix.”

The LB Skybar menu includes grilled items including sliders made with waygu beef and topped with brie, bacon jam, onions and spicy ketchup ($16) and the SKB Grilled Chicken served with a pineapple jalapeno BBQ sauce and provolone cheese on a brioche bun ($16) and a variety of soft tacos (fish, beef and chicken) ($15-17). Shareable plates include a hummus platter served with pita and vegetables ($12); cheese and charcuterie board adorned with berries, nuts, jam, mustard and baguette ($23); and thin crust pizza ($12-14). Small bites including corn and crab fritters, Korean pork belly bites served with a sweet and spicy noodle salad; and bacon, leek and cream cheese gorgeres will also be featured ($6-9). Vegetarian items include a summer salad ($8) and a lettuce wrap served with house made chips and pickle ($9).

The beverage menu will highlight local spirts and craft beers. Happy hour specials will be offered from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

With the inclusion of the indoor lounge and bar area, LB Skybar can accommodate an additional 75 guests any given evening and remain operational regardless of the weather forecast. Several flat screen TVs will play sporting events including Orioles games and the Preakness Stakes.

“As we all know, Baltimore weather is unpredictable. Having an indoor option provides a respite for guests who want to escape the outdoor elements, whatever they may be, or pop in and see the score of the latest game,” said Shimunek.

LB Skybar’s season will run from April 27 th through the early fall, and seating is available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, Fridays from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The space will be available for private events on Mondays and Tuesdays. The hotel also has plans to introduce fitness classes on weekend mornings.

Since opening three years ago, LB Skybar has become a favorite destination for happy hours and late-nights, ranked as one of The Baltimore Sun’s top 25 bars in the city. LB Skybar offers one of the best vantage points of Downtown Baltimore to enjoy summertime sunsets.
