Scott Slosson, Director of Development for 28 Walker Associates, the developer and owner of the mixed-use McHenry Row project, provided an overview and tour of the high-rise, 223-unit multifamily building to the Developing Leaders. Delivered last fall, nearly 100 units have been leased and more than 50 are currently occupied. “We carefully designed Porter Street Apartments to function as the centerpiece of McHenry Row, using architectural elements that meld the various brick, glass and steel exterior materials that are utilized throughout the project,” explained Slosson. “This role is heightened by its positioning within the project, in the virtual core of the commercial office district, retail corridor and recreational amenities.”

Offering sweeping views of the Locust Point neighborhoods as well as the Baltimore City skyline, Porter Street Apartments offers studio and one and two-bedroom units ranging between approximately 500 and 1000 square feet of space. “Everything is extremely high-end, from the closets to the built-in appliance package,” Slosson added. “We have been pleasantly surprised by the popularity of the studio models and believe our residents are high-energy individuals that are attracted to the pedestrian-friendly aspects of McHenry Row.
“Another differentiation point is the all-inclusive pricing model with rent and utilities all packaged into one flat fee,” he added.
